Originally, Sacrée Française started with a very simple idea.

At first, what we wanted was to reduce the ecological impact of sanitary protection. That's how we started to offer a washable equivalent , made in France, in small quantities.

That was our concept, basically, and we would have liked it to remain that way.

The problem is that along the way, some smart people realized that ecology was a seller. That by dyeing products green and planting trees here and there, the products sold better.

And that's called greenwashing.

Because of these false promises, we realized that women were no longer able to choose their menstrual protection correctly . So we said stop. First, because health and feminine hygiene are serious matters for us. Second, because ecology is a necessity . Not a sales pitch.

So we sat down and thought about it. In January 2024, we decided to reposition our brand . We said to ourselves that even if we were to stop marketing around a cause as important as ecology, we would highlight the sustainability of our products . And that's good, because that's the main quality of Sacrée Française: products made in France, by hand. And what's more, much cheaper than disposable protection!

    All of our products are manufactured in France in Lyon. This allows us to limit the ecological impact of transport from a distant country.

  • Are made by hand

    As much as possible. We want to be sure of what we put in your protection: soft, good quality fabrics, and especially not toxic or bad for your health. And for that, there's nothing better than taking care of it ourselves. Only menstrual panties are machine-made.

  • Are cheaper than disposable

    On average, a woman spends €150 to €200 per year on sanitary protection. But thanks to our washable, reusable and, above all, durable protection, this cost disappears very quickly. No need to keep your tampon in longer to save a little money.

According to a survey carried out by the association Règles Élémentaires in 2023, nearly 4 million women in France have difficulty obtaining menstrual protection . An alarming figure, far from being down, which has even doubled since 2021 and continues to rise: thus, no less than 1.2 million people indicate that because of the increase in the cost of living , they could find themselves in a situation of menstrual insecurity.

At Sacrée Française, we refuse to remain indifferent. Thus, we have made the fight against period poverty our primary commitment. Especially since young women are the most affected : how can we set a good example for the next generation if we do nothing now?
